Ninja Royale

Ninja Royale is the name of the game.
I am going to develop a prototype in a team of 4 people, and the theme is:

Mario Kart battle meets Assassin's Creed (using your XBOX Avatar!)
What I have to say?
AWESOME!

By the way, I did a research with my team about some games that are a little similar to what we want to make.
Everyone picked 5 games, and my 5 games were:

1. Gunz: The Duel - Very good gameplay, different game modes (deathmatch and missions). We can use a lot of things of this game (the battle movements, jumping, dashing, running in walls, the skill levels and the co-op of mission levels against NPCs and Boss)
BTW, here are some videos from the gameplay:
The level design is not complex, but still cool to dodge and dash and improve your ‘ninja skills’
This game use the glitches to improve the gameplay, and the community created some “skill levels”, here is a video of one of them (yeah, you can jump in the wall and dash in the air, if you have the skills looks like you are flying lol): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7jDvPzerEU
Another cool thing that we can get from it is the communication and expressions (like laughing when you defeat somebody, or dancing). It’s a PC game, so you have the keyboard, but still an option the voice chating.
Here is a gameplay showing the ‘ninja skills’ (sorry for the quality, I couldn’t find a better one):

2. Twisted Metal series - Good levels (huge arenas with itens, good level design). The battle is limited by the car limitations. We REALLY should put a target in the interface, and try to make a kind of auto-aim, because with the controller will be very difficult to hit someone that it’s moving all the time.

- Twisted Metal was a great small arena game.

3. Crash Bash - Very good gameplay, different mini-games in small arenas. Very funny. You can’t do so many things in the “ninja way”, so the main thing in common is the funny battle. We could try to make some mini-games, sounds cool (like mario party games, with the avatars playing in ninja style, sounds good!)

4. Final Ninja
- A flash game that I found in kongregate. You don’t have multiplayer or even reall enemies (just moving obstacles and lasers, after some levels they have some NPCs). The cool thing about it, that we can implement in Ninja Royale, is that the main character have a ninja rope that is also a shuriken. You click and he shoot the shuriken. You click and hold and the ninja rope goes together with the shuriken. The mechanic is pretty much the same thing as in the Worms Armaggedon. Can be a good thing to put in the game to reach to the high places, or use as a weapon, maybe. Or maybe we can take the rope off in some skill levels.

5. Sticky Ninja Academy

- Another flash game. Is interesting because is different. Have 30 levels, all of them are puzzles with some enemies (NPCs obstacles). The mechanic is interesting because the ninja can stick on the walls (you have to click and drag the mouse over the ninja to throw him). Could be an interesting thing that we could make, try to stick on the walls. (can be a power-up or ability). We can have “power-down” too, some items turn the ninja into a heavy guy or light guy (moving slow or faster). This is a line we could try, if you wanna, the puzzle-solving. So it will be more like a Prince of Persia and with the co-op, maybe more like Little Big Planet.

Beginning the LEVEL DESIGN! :)
Will be soon, I promisse.
